So it turns out compiling SWF files, or at least ActionScript to Objective-C is a good idea—so good that Adobe added this feature to Creative Suite 5—and a terrible idea—Apple’s amended developer agreement explicitly forbids it.
So I guess it is a good thing that I was so busy doing other things that I made little progress on my SWF file parser.
Now, I’m starting to write an iPad application. I won’t say any more yet. (Should I at all? Spolsky says developer-oriented blogs are only useful if you make a developer-oriented product; the iPad application I am writing is certainly not aimed at developers.)
